Q: Having just found out I am pregnant, my husband and I are completely overwhelmed with the amount of information available! How do we know where to start?

A: This is a great question - and one that many first-time parents-to-be ask. It’s true – there is a huge amount of information out there about pregnancy and prenatal care – in books, on video and on the web.

It’s why we created our Prenatal Corner – to provide you with information about pregnancy and parenting that is based on current science. We explain this in a way that is easily understood by parents just like you.

What makes our prenatal corner unique? It includes information on pregnancy, preparing for birth, your couple relationship and becoming a parent. The couple relationship and parenting information is best used before your baby arrives in your home!! And our parenting framework called Comfort, Play & Teach is a gift for first-time parents!!

Check out our Prenatal Corner first! We present the information that you will need to know at each stage of your pregnancy.

There are some great books written by Ann Douglas, who is one of our experts, and a member of our National Board of Advisors: The Mother of all Pregnancy Books and The Mother of all Baby Books. It really comes down to finding a source that presents information in a way that is easy for you to understand. The Health Canada website has great information and there are many other books as well.
