Gifts of Securities

You can support our efforts with gifts of stocks, life insurance, annuities, trusts and bequests.

Recent tax changes have made it attractive to donate appreciated publicly-traded securities. Under these rules, you may give stocks, bonds, futures and options, as well as mutual funds. Gifts of securities can greatly reduce the out-of-pocket expense of making such a donation. For more information on making a gift of securities, please contact our Development Team at 416-977-1222.

Gifts in Kind

Contributions of Gifts in Kind can take many forms and allow you an opportunity to support Invest in Kids with your company's top quality products and services while benefiting from a charitable tax receipt. Invest in Kids particularly values in-kind donations that can support our fundraising events including Battle of the Brains and the Invest in Kids Celebrity Golf Classic. Holiday Cards

Each year, Invest in Kids partners with Cornerstone 52 Foundation to present the Holiday Greeting Card campaign. This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase greeting cards that are perfect for business or personal use and at the same time support a great cause. The cards are available in bundles of a minimum of 100 at a cost of $160. For each card purchased, $0.75 will go directly to Invest in Kids.

You may also purchase personalized agendas and diaries from Cornerstone 52 Foundation. Invest in Kids will receive $4 to $5 from each sale.

This year, a new holiday card program is available for you to choose from. “Cards Helping Kids” allows you to purchase printed box sets of 25 cards for $24.95. Ten dollars ($10) from each set will go directly to Invest in Kids.

These are great ways to get into the festive spirit and support Invest in Kids! Please contact the Development Team for more information on how you or your business can purchase holiday cards.

Matching Gifts

One of the smartest ways to increase your giving is through a Matching Gifts Program. Many organizations match charitable contributions made by current or retired employees and their spouses. These matches are often dollar for dollar, which doubles your charitable donation power. Please check with your human resources department for a matching gifts form and submit it with your gift to Invest in Kids. To make a donation click here.

Tribute Donations

Honour a friend or relative while providing key support to Invest in Kids. A tribute gift is a wonderful way to mark a special occasion, honour a friend or co-worker and celebrate a birthday and other special events. A personalized acknowledgement will be sent informing the recipient that a gift has been made on their behalf.

Special Occasion Gifts:
Honour a friend or relative while providing key support to Invest in Kids. And, friends and family can do the same for you. In lieu of birthday gifts, you may want to ask family and friends to consider making a donation to Invest in Kids in your honour. In return, they will receive a tax receipt, our grateful thanks and the knowledge that they have given a gift that will truly make a difference.

Memorial Gifts:
Pay tribute to the life of a loved one or cherished friend with a memorial gift. It is a meaningful way for you to express your sympathy and preserve the memory of friends and family. Invest in Kids will send a card to the bereaved family acknowledging your thoughtful gesture and you will receive a tax receipt and a note of thanks for your generosity. The amount of your gift is kept strictly confidential.

Make a Difference in the Lives of Parents and Children with the Get Set For Life Welcome to Parenting Box

Invest in Kids, with the generous support of Unilever Canada Foundation, has produced 60,000 Get Set For Life Welcome to Parenting Boxes to help parents guide the development of their newborn. In 2003, Invest in Kids launched this initiative and reached 10,000 new parents most in need of support. These parents and the frontline professionals in family support programs who assisted with the distribution praised the practical, easy-to-understand Comfort, Play & Teach™ resources developed by Invest in Kids to help parents better understand the specific things they can do every day to support their child’s social, emotional and intellectual development.

Thanks to this overwhelmingly positive response, Invest in Kids developed 50,000 more boxes in 2004. By the end of 2005, boxes will be in the hands of an additional 25,000 new parents, most in need, again through frontline professionals.

With your support, we can ensure that the remaining 25,000 Boxes reach new parents across Canada sooner rather than later. Employers may purchase quantities for distribution to their employees through Employee Assistance Programs.

Events

The generous support of the private sector - individuals and corporations - helps to fund the majority of Invest in Kids' fundraising events. There are a number of opportunities for you to get involved in Invest in Kids' signature fundraising events, Battle of the Brains and the Invest in Kids Celebrity Golf Classic.

Through event sponsorship, your name, logo and corporate messaging can be placed in front of a desirable target market of individuals, corporate leaders and organizations. Click here for more information on available event sponsorships.

Attending one of Invest in Kids' signature events as a guest is another way for individuals and corporations to support Invest in Kids. Purchasing tables at Battle of the Brains and foursomes at the Celebrity Golf Classic are a fun and exciting way to entertain colleagues and friends, compete against the best and support a great cause. Click here for more information on how you can attend our signature events.

Licensed Partnerships

There are occasions when a company may wish to use the Invest in Kids logo, brand, content and reputation in association with its products or services to demonstrate a commitment to parenting and the healthy social, emotional and intellectual development of children from birth to age five.

The use of the Invest in Kids logo may be licensed to an organization for a specific time period in return for the payment of a licensing fee. Invest in Kids will consider a licensed partnership with organizations who believe in our mandate, enhance our corporate relationships as well as sustain and add value to our image within the community.
