Interactive Play Area Engages Parents and Thrills Children at Masonville Place In London

(Toronto, November 5, 2020) – From November 7th to 9th Invest in Kids, a national charitable organization dedicated to ensuring the healthy development of Canada’s youngest children, brings their Comfort, Play & Teach Centre™ to London, ON for the first stop on the Centre’s 2008 Capital One Canadian tour. This interactive activity centre allows parents and their young children to strengthen their relationship while enjoying time together.

The Comfort, Play & Teach Centre will be at Masonville Place (1680 Richmond Street North) on Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th from 10am – 9pm and on Sunday November 9th from 12pm – 5pm. The Centre will be located near the Coles store on the lower level.

“In this wonderful interactive play area, parents share in simple everyday activities with their children, such as colouring, dress-up, playing with building blocks and reading,” says Lisa McKeen, Vice President of Marketing, Development and Brand Management at Invest in Kids. “And, with the Comfort, Play & Teach tips found in our activity cards, parents will have practical ideas to add a new dimension to each of these activities that will enrich the time they spend with their child and support their child’s healthy social, emotional and intellectual development.”

“At Capital One, we are proud to support educational programs that help build relationships between parents and young children. These early years are crucial and finding creative tools to help parents nurture their kids can be indispensable,” said Rob Livingston, Chief Marketing Officer, Capital One Canada. “I am confident that London-area parents and children will benefit from the fun and safe atmosphere the Comfort, Play and Teach Centre has to offer.”

The Comfort, Play & Teach Centre™ has four activity zones where parents can join their infants, toddlers and preschoolers in family fun:

The Sculpture Centre – To build and make fabulous creations
The Reading Centre – To discover how words and pictures combine to make stories
The Imaginative Play Centre – A place where imaginations run wild using the costume trunk to play dress up
The Creative Centre – A place to colour and create wonderful art

Each zone has a different Comfort, Play & Teach™ activity card with suggestions on how to use the principles of Comfort, Play & Teach in everyday, routine activities. Comfort, Play & Teach is Invest in Kids’ research-informed parenting approach to support healthy child development. These three parenting actions work together to generate responses from children that transform everyday interactions from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Comfort, Play & Teach builds parenting confidence, strengthens the parent-child bond, enriches the moment for the child and parent, and, ultimately, opens a world of possibilities for them both. Parents can take home the free set of Comfort, Play & Teach™ activity cards and use the ideas with their child every day.

Invest in Kids is a national charity dedicated to helping parents become the parents they want to be.
